SENEGALESE-AMERICAN SINGER AKON JOINS FIGHT FOR PEACE IN DRCONGO THROUGH MUSIC

01 Apr 2014 Senegalese- American singer and Five-time Grammy Award nominee, Akon is using his star power to fight for Peace in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

EL Now news gathers that he has joined the Peace One Day campaign to increase grassroots effort for peace and stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Great Lakes region and around the world.

The singer and Calabar Festival frequenter has confirmed his participation for a music concert in Goma, DRCongo come the 21st of September – which is the Peace One Day.

Speaking to DSTV.com, he’s vested in the efforts to raise the level of awareness on peace in the bid to significantly reduce the instances of violence in the country by 2016. Thumbs up.
