President XI addresses British parliament during state visit

Oct 26, 2015 During his recent visit to the UK, Chinese president Jinping Xi spoke highly of the relationship that exists between China and the UK.

While addressing the British parliament, president Xi paid tribute to the historical efforts that have benefitted both nations.

“During the second World War, 24 Chinese naval cadets took part in the Normandy landings. They received commendation from Prime Minister Winston Churchill for their gallantry. The late Lord Lindsay, a British peer, was actively involved in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.  History will forever remember those who dedicated themselves to this China-UK friendship and the cause of peace and justice in the world,”

After addressing parliament, President Xi and his wife were treated to a banquet hosted by Alderman Alan Yarrow, the Lord Mayor of the City of London.
