South African 20 year old soap opera “Generations” may be replaced
17th Sep 2014 How are you going guys!
Is the most watched TV series in South Africa, “Generations”, about to be replaced after running every week day for the last 20 years?
The entire cast of the popular TV series was fired last month by the SABC management, when the cast went on strike in a long-running dispute over wages and work contracts.
Meanwhile, according to the Sowetan, President Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Gugu Zuma has been reported to have been commissioned to produce a new TV series in place of “Generations”.
But then an SABC executive denies this, stating that the SABC has agreed to give the actors more attractive salaries and contracts. The truth must surface soon.
