Ghana Names Avram Grant as the New Coach of their National Team

10th Nov 2014 Still in happenings in Ghana, the country has recently named Avram Grant as the coach for their national team, the black stars. This is coming on the heels of former coach, Kwesi Appiah’s dismissal after the whole World Cup drama which shocked many and brought up criticisms especially from Ghanaians to their national team players and the association

Grant is a respectable coach with an impressive career, having coached Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham football clubs. He was also the coach for the national team of his country, Israel for four years. For his present position in Ghana’s football, he beat five other serious contenders such as Juan Ignacio Martinez from Spain. Avram Grant has already obviously gained the respect and admiration of Ghana’s soccer body and they are very positive in affirming that he has met the necessary qualifications and expectations of the job, and is Ghana’s preferred choice.

Speaking on the issue, Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of Ghana’s football association said “Our preference is Avram Grant on the details of the job requirements and expectations”.

This is good news for the Black Stars who have not had a coach since the twelfth of September when Kwesi Appiah left following Ghana’s crashing out of the world cup amidst accusations of indiscipline and assault by players.
