Kenya’s president challenges the youths of his country to embrace entrepreneurism
25th Nov 2014 Kenya’s president Uhuru Kenyatta has challenged the youths of his country to embrace entrepreneurism in order to fight unemployment, adding that entrepreneurship could eliminate unemployment in Kenya, one of the most serious problems faced by the country and its youths.
The President was speaking during the tenth graduation ceremony of Kabarak university, where he was awarded a Honorary Doctorate in Leadership. He reminded the youths in Kenya to take advantage of Uwezo and Youth Enterprise funds by his administration, to start and build saying “I want the youth in the country to be able to imagine and dream and not to worry,” he said.
The President also encouraged young people to take advantage of the thirty percent per cent procurement opportunities that have been put aside for young people and women in government tenders.
President Kenyatta also launched the university’s online education platform, witnessed by The Vice Chancellor of the institution and other important personalities and academia and expressed his optimism by saying “I hope that the online platform will help Kenya become an Information Communication hub.”
