Ghana hosts Africa and Middle East Conference

25th March 2015 A non-profit organization in Ghana, the  Junior Chamber International in Ghana, is set to host this year’s Africa and Middle East Conference in Accra. The conference is to encourage collaboration and exchange of ideas of young Africans, which will impact their respective communities.
The dates put aside for the four day event are the 6th to the 9th of May, and the event will hold at the Accra International Conference Centre. The theme for 2015 is ‘Transforming socio-economic challenges into opportunities through entrepreneurship”.
JCI’s Director of Communications and Marketing, Mr. Stephen Kwaku Darku, said in a statement that seven hundred delegates would participate in the event from different parts of Africa.
Mr. Kwaku Darku added that the event will also be a platform for partners and stakeholder organizations to look into international issues, prove their commitment to becoming socially responsible leaders and form new business networks.

According to him, some of the main projects JCI Ghana has undertaken include a donation of hospital beds to the Princess Marie Louise Hospital, giving a 5000 litre poly tank to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, working for women empowerment in Tarkwa, reinstating the library of South La Primary School and mounting  road safety campaign bill boards.

JCI is an organization of young active citizens between the ages of 18 to 40 who are actively involved and committed to creating positive change in their communities. The Conference Organizing Committee is partnering the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industries, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts, National Youth Authority, Ghana Tourist Authority, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council for the event.
