China and Angola make vows to further their cooperation
June 16, 2015 President Xi Jinping of China met with Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos when he visited Beijing to promote the bilateral relations between the nations. The president of China described both countries as good brothers and long-term strategic partners who have benefited mutually in the past five years, since they signed strategic partnership relations in 2010.
He said China and Angola should enhance political mutual trust while offering one another support on the path of development. President Xi reaffirmed that his country was interested in working with Angola to help the country turn its rich natural and human resources into growth and achievements for the people. President Xi Jinping shared some growth opportunities such as building infrastructure, in finance; like currency swap, investment protection and the avoidance of double taxation. Other areas of cooperation would be education, culture, sport, healthcare, media and tourism.
Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, shared that the Angola–China cooperation under the frame of the strategic partnership would be good for the development of Angola and promised to provide a good business environment for Chinese companies.
The discussions were followed by the signing of a series of agreement by both leaders.
