Mexico tries for "world's biggest selfie
June 17, 2015 On June 13, thousands of Mexicans flocked to the Monument to Child Heroes in Mexico City for the chance to get into the Guinness Record for the world’s biggest selfie. Victor Hugo Rodriguez who put the event together said it was a record attempt meant to bring Mexicans together.
According to him, “It is a photograph that unites everyone. There is no charge to participants, everything is done through sponsors. In Mexico, people unite in an event of empathy. No one pays for this event,”
Spirits were high among participants who took their own selfies as they waited for the big moment. Guinness officials were present in the morning of the event and have said they will take the photo back to headquarters for official review and then, release the verdict soon.
