China, Australia hold 2nd strategic and economic dialogue
Aug 18, 2015 China and Australia held a second bilateral dialogue recently in Australian in a bid to promote strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Xu Shaoshi, China’s Minister of National Development and Reform held talks with Australian Treasurer Joe Hockey and Trade Minister Andrew Robb on issues ranging from the global economic situation, investment policies, as well as the investment opportunities that have been brought about by their strategic partnership.
With China’s “Belt and Road Initiative” bearing several similarities to the Australia’s Northern Development Strategy and National Infrastructure Construction Schedule, the two countries agreed to enhance their cooperative fields and levels via the coordination of their development strategy.
The two sides also agreed to encourage enterprises to take full advantage of the opportunities brought by the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and enhance cooperation on infrastructure construction, energy resources exploitation, production capacity and finance.
The first economic dialogue between china and Australia held last year and the two country have moved to intensify communication and coordination in macro economy policies and work together to cope with risks in global economic development.
