Nominees representing Nigeria for this category are heavyweights such as Davido, Wizkid, Olamide, P-Square, Tiwa Savage, Timaya, Burna Boy, Wande Coal, Omawumi, Dr Sid, Emma Nyra and Tillaman.

Nominees from Other African countries include Zahara, R2bees, Sarkodie, Sauti Sol, Shatta Wale, Eddy Kenzo, Awilo Logonmba, Samini, Radio & Weasal, VVIP, Nathalie Makoma, B1, Kidum, Aar Maanta and Kalifa Aganaga.
