Oscar Pistorius set to be released on parole on October 20
Oct 19, 2015 Moving on to South Africa, jailed double amputee Olympic blade runner Oscar Pistorius is set to be released on parole on Tuesday to spend the rest of his five-year sentence under house arrest after spending 1 year in jail.
Oscar Pistorius who was found guilty of culpable homicide for shooting and killing his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine Day in 2013 is considered eligible for parole after spending one-sixth of his five year sentence, according to South African law.
Oscar Pistorius had claimed that he thought Reeva Steenkamp was an intruder when he shot her through a closed bathroom door.
