Negotiations begin ahead of international climate conference
Nov 11, 2015 French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius recently led a group of about 20 ministers and officials through the site of the climate change summit billed for later in the month.
Fabius then announced that pre-meeting negotiations will be taking place in Paris with the goal of getting a head start on formal discussions and exploring possible compromises.
While addressing journalists, he said:
“We are organizing a pre-COP to prepare the big conference in Paris that takes place at the end of the month. We’re organizing a pre-COP with around 60 ministers from around the world and we will prepare what we hope will be the success of the Paris conference. Over the next three days, Sunday through Tuesday, we will take all the problems that the COP addresses and we will try to progress on finding possible solutions,”
