Zidane dismisses claims over Rodriguez's commitment

Jan 27, 2016 Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane recently moved to quell rumors over the commitment of Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez.

The 24-year-old, who joined Real Madrid from Monaco after dazzling at the 2014 World Cup finals, has been the center of rumors linking his dipping form to heavy involvement in the Spanish nightlife.

“It does bother me, but I prefer ignore rumors…What I’m interested in is James when we are here. I think he is very positive and very involved in what he does and I don’t believe everything that is said outside. I see him committed and involved in what he does every day.”

According to the Zidane, Rodriguez, who has made only seven starts this season in La Liga, was working hard to get back to top form and will remain a key member in the team.

Rodriguez was sidelined by a thigh injury while on duty with Colombia in September and has struggled for form and fitness since his return to action in October.

“With James the idea is to have him at his best, to prepare for what we have every week and this week he is ready to play,”

Zidane went on to reiterated that he was happy with his squad adding that there were no plans to bring in reinforcements in January despite facing a FIFA ban for the next two transfer windows.
