Chinese athletes claim medals at national winter games

Jan 27, 2016 Some of China’s top winter athletes recently struck gold in their respective categories at the ongoing 13th National Winter Games in China.

In the women’s 10-kilometer cross-country skiing event, Li Xin claimed the gold medal.

Elsewhere in the freestyle aerials competition, the team representing Urumqi finished top of the standings.

Snowboarder Shi Wancheng won gold in the men’s half-pipe competition and Veteran skier Xia Lina claimed first place in the women’s giant slalom.

Liu Yiming won the gold medal in the men’s 1,500-meter speed skating competition while the team from Harbin won two gold and a silver medals in the curling competition.
