Shatta Wale gets banned from Vodafone Ghana music awards
Jan 29, 2016 We start off with Ghanaian self-acclaimed dancehall king, Shatta Wale, who has apparently just been banned indefinitely from the acclaimed annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Shatta Wale got at loggerheads with Charter House, the organizers of the Awards, after losing the Best Dancehall Artiste award to Ghanaian dance hall queenr Kaakie at the 2013 VGMA, landing Shatta Wale in a defamation lawsuit.
This prompted Shatta Wale to release a song where he warned Charter House not to nominate him in any award, only for Shatta Wale to submit his works for consideration in 2016 VGMA.
Now Charter House has apparently decided to ban Shatta Wale from participating in the awards for 3 years or more.
