Nigeria’s leading entertainment and lifestyle network launches EbonyLife ON in Africa this July

Digital platform to be available globally for instant access to original, dynamic content

Lagos, 21 June 2018 – EbonyLife TV is excited to introduce EbonyLife ON, its video on-demand service, to an international audience from July 1st. Initially targeted to viewers in the Diaspora, the mobile, video-on-demand tool is now for anyone who wants access to authentic, well-made programmes that highlight positive and dynamic stories from Africa, regardless of their location.

Part of the exciting content that will be available on the platform is a new EbonyLife original series – Castle & Castle, Nigeria’s first legal drama. Starring Nollywood heavyweights Richard Mofe-Damijo and Dakore Egbuson-Akande, audiences will get the chance to enjoy this quality show that tells stories about complicated family dynamics and the legal industry.

The CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, is thrilled about this new development. “As important as it is to positively change the African narrative outside the continent, we need to start being champions of our own stories, right here in Africa. Making EbonyLife ON globally available is our way of doing that,” she said.  

Other hit dramas will be accessible via EbonyLife ON, such as The Governor, an account of the struggles of the first female governor in Nigeria; Fifty, a series adaptation of the 2015 Nollywood hit movie, about four women in mid-life going through various challenges; and Sons of the Caliphate, a drama about feuding between powerful, political families in northern Nigeria.
