ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA MEMEBERS SPEAK UP AGAINST ACCUSATIONS THAT THEIR CURSORY VISIT TO THE PRESIDENCY WAS TO SOLICIT FOR FUNDS AMONGST OTHER FAVOURS.

26 Feb 2014 Last week Nollywood’s crème de la crème stormed Abuja for a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s President Good luck Jonathan.

Now unsurprisingly, what seemed to be a casual homage to the number one man of the country sparked criticism with the media. Some connoting that the actors had gone to solicit for alms, find sugar daddies amongst other favors.

Clearly infuriated by the wrist-slap, actors such as Segun Arinze and Kabat Esosa, have spoken up to clear the clear on the erroneous reports.  Mr. Arinze has clarified that the AGN is apolitical and unbiased.

President of the actors  guild of Nigeria Ibinabo Fiberesima also used the opportunity of the courtesy visit to bestow the President with the honor of Grand Patron of the Guild.

The neighborly accost saw stars in attendance such as Ini Edo, Funke Akindele, Monalisa Chinda, The Aneke Twins, Desmond Elliot amongst others.

And that’s the news.
