Afghan child's makeshift Messi soccer jersey is a viral hit
Feb 03, 2016 A young boy in Afghanistan recently became a media sensation after photographs of his makeshift soccer jersey went viral on the Internet.
Five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi had asked his family for a Lionel Messi’s jersey. However his father, Arif Ahmadi, said such luxury was beyond the family’s affordability.
So Murtaza and his siblings decide to make an improvised version.
Speaking about his son’s interest in the Barcelona star player, Arif Ahmadi said:
“Murtaza is a fan of Messi. He says Messi’s name daily and tries to find a striped plastic bag to make a shirt out of it. He asked me to find a real shirt for him with Messi’s name on it. I said how should I bring such shirt for you? When he wakes up at night, he says Messi’s name. He says he wants to see Messi,”
