10th Nov 2014 And we have lift off! That’s right, Africa has arrived Calabar, Nigeria for the continent’s biggest film festival: The African International Film Festival.
Actors, filmmakers and enthusiasts yesterday arrived Nigeria’s freetrade zone Tinapa for what is anticipated to be a fascinating week of film screenings, trainings and parties.
EL Now’s Ekeng Bassey is on ground to bring us all the juice.
EKENG PTC: That’s right, I’m reporting live from the 2014 Africa International festival. It’s a 7 day event which kicked off yesterday with guest arrivals, acceditation, registeration and an opening night at the Cultural festival. That’s 7 whole days of fun packed events from Training workshops to masterclasses, film screenings, industry sessions, a gala night and of course the celeb-studded parties (winks). Which makes me wonder what participants are looking forward to the most.
And with the impressive turn out at the opening party, AFRIFF is sure off to a good start this year.
Ekeng PTC: Well today saw a Master Class in Film Marketing 101 & Art of Film Criticism which was well attended but I’ll tell you what I’m looking forward to the most, it’s the Afriff Village party going down tonight – more on that tomorrow. So if you spot anyone sweating and busting some serious moves on the dance floor, make way it’s probably me! For EL Now, Ekeng Bassey.
