Akon set to provide electricity to Kenya

23rd Sep 2014 So, Senegalese-American singer Akon is still keeping it real with his fatherland Africa, offering a helping hand to electrify the largest urban slum in the continent – Kibera in Nairobi Kenya.

Akon has come up with the scheme called “Akon Light Up Africa Project”, meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya in the State House in Nairobi on Thursday.

Akon intends to provide solar electricity to a million households across Africa by the end of this year. Well done Akon!
