Amputee football federation scribe wants adequate preparations
21st April 2015 Its Football season on the continent and today we share information about another tournament. The Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football, CANAF, will hold in this year Angola, at a yet to be announced date. One man who wants the very best for Nigeria in the competition is Pius Asaba, a member of the Amputee Football Federation for Africa. Mr Asaba has urged the country’s national team to start training in advance for the competition.
Mr. Asaba also advised members of the team to be focused and determined as this would help them improve individually. He shared his belief that preparing early would help to prepare the team, before they are invited to camp by the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation.
In his words, “The competition is holding this year, although the date is yet to be made known by AFFA; however players must start in-house preparations so that they will be in form. It will help to reduce the syndrome of fire brigade approach whenever we are to participate in tournaments which in most cases affect our team’s performance,”
Mr. Asaba took out time to encourage football lovers to keep giving necessary support to the national team as they prepare for the biennial football tourney.
