ASEAN countries sign anti-trafficking agreement
Nov 25, 2015 The Association of Southeast Asian Nations recently signed an anti-trafficking agreement at a regional summit in Kuala Lumpur.
According to a statement on the association’s website, the agreement expressed an urgent need for a comprehensive regional approach to prevent and to combat trafficking in persons, particularly women and children.
Following the signing ceremony, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who is the current rotating chairman, was handed the memorandum by ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh.
