Bolt wins 100 meters in Beijing

Aug 27, 2015 Usain Bolt once again produced his best when it mattered most to retain his 100 meters world title and reassert himself as the fastest man on the planet.

The 29-year-old Jamaican breezed past America’s Justin Gatlin over the last 30 meters, crossing the line in 9.79 seconds- his best record this year.

Gatlin had to settle for second place, finishing the race in 9.80 seconds while Andre de Grasse of Canada and American Trayvon Bromell tied in third place as they both finished with 9.92 sec.

And they were both awarded bronze medals after they ran identical times down to a 1000th of a second.

Bolt, who is the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder, has remained unbeaten in the 100m or 200m in six major global championships going back to 2007.
