Bristish council holds stakeholders meeting in Nigeria

Nov 27, 2015 The British council Nigeria recently held a roundtable meeting with stakeholders in Education, Art and culture in Calabar.

The event, which was held at the Transcorp Metropolitan Hotel, was attended by representatives from the Central bank of Nigeria, school administrators, art and culture enthusiasts as well as tourism industry stakeholders.

The roundtable featured discussion on how to promote education, arts and culture in Cross River State, Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, Ophai Ochai, the council’s Director of Arts said:

“With this season we are try to really focus on the art and creative industry and see how we can really maximize the opportunity that the arts and creative industries … that means of course we need to work with yourselves in ways that will allow us to achieve our end objectives”

After the event, Michael Williams, Managing Director of the Cross River Tourism Bureau said:

“It was very interesting…the various appeals and request that people made. it is obvious that people want to grow…and that they’ll be enough collaboration to move people forward”

Commenting on the goal on the event, Adetimi Soyinka, British council Director of Education said:

“Basically we are looking to do more work with the people of Calabar…so think of it as scoping visit to find out what that people are already doing in Calabar”
