Calabar Festival kicks off
5th Dec 2014 The acclaimed 32 days long Calabar Festival kicked off with the Tree Lighting Ceremony, which was accompanied by fireworks, at the Millenium Park in Calabar on Sunday.
Gracing the ceremony was the deputy Governor of Cross Rivers State, Barrister Efiom Cobham, as well as celebrated Calabar comedian Last Prophet and other local entertainers.
Day 2 of the festival saw The HIV Walk, with the deputy Governor and his wife leading a crowd of enthusiasts campaigning against discrimination and stigmatization of HIV and AIDS victims.
Day 3 and 4 brought about the Talent Night where the stage was open to absolutely anyone who thinks they’ve got talent. Dancers, singers and rappers got a chance to show Calabar what they’ve got. Stick to us like glue for all the latest on the on-going Calabar Festival.
