12 Mar 2014 Over now to controversial pop culture diva Dencia. The bodacious Cameroonian singer has managed to snag local and international attention, not for her singing talent mind you, but for her controversial skin care treatment, Whitenicious.
Joining the growing line of media mentions such as Ebony Magazine, UK’s Daily Mail, Lupita Nyong’os speech in Hollywood she has been invited on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) for a new documentary titled Light Girls.
In the email which has been made public, the documentary is piggy-backing off Dark Girls, a film by Bill Duke which had sparked a lot of interest and conversation owing to its deep themes on colour and self esteem.
Amidst several criticisms and reports that her product is a harmful skin bleaching agent, Dencia has also gone on to release a facial cleanser which she launched on Instagram to her international customers yesterday.
Well, as they say, bad PR is when no one’s talking about you!
