Nov 20, 2015 CEO of EbonyLife TV Mo Abudu, recently inspired young professionals at the 23rd Annual Wharton Africa Business Forum. The Woodlands Ballroom was filled to capacity with graduate students, professors, sponsors, and young professionals who came to listen to the talk titled “My Africa Story”, based on the theme My Africa Story: Lessons in business, visions for impact
There were lots of relatable moments as Ms Abudu recounted her experience in the UK, living on her grandparents’ farm in Nigeria, and her transition back to Nigeria as an adult. She shared the process behind the difficult decision to leave her corporate job with the security and benefits, saying, “It’s one thing to dream ideas. But it’s really about how you exercise your dreams.”
The event which featured Ms Abudu as Keynote Speaker, was a good opportunity for young people to engage and interact, and many attendees requested contact details for an opportunity for extended mentorship. Ms Abudu left the audience encouraged and inspired to believe in themselves and follow their passion, words captured with the quote “Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone. You owe it to yourself. It’s how you go about realizing your dream.”
