Oct 09, 2015 Chelsea recently gave their full support to manager Jose Mourinho following the team’s torrid start to the season. The defending champions have already lost six games in all competitions this term and are 10 points behind table-topping Manchester City, after eight matches.
During a press conference, Jose Mourinho insisted that he will not quit his job.
“No way I resign, no way. Why? Because Chelsea cannot have a better manager than me. There are many managers in the world that belong to my level, but not better, so no chance I run away. Why? For two reasons, one, because I have my professional pride and I know I am very good at my job. Secondly because I like this club very much and if that’s not the case it could be different. In the accumulation of both situations I want the best for my club and the best for my club is for me to stay, so I stay”
The club’s hierarchy also responded in like manner by releasing an official statement saying that the Portuguese manager has their full confidence.
The release said:
“As Jose has said himself, results have not been good enough and the team’s performances must improve. However, we believe that we have the right manager to turn this season around and that he has the squad with which to do it.”
