Chimamanda Adichie angered by election postponement
12th Feb 2015 Moving on now to another powerful award-winning woman, it’s celebrated writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who has penned down her thoughts on the recent election date postponement.
Writing for US online publication The Atlantic in a article titled Democracy Deferred, Adichie describes the postponement as “an embarrassment of bad choices’.
She went on to compare the candidates pointing out that Nigerians are politically astute enough to know that the postponement has nothing to do with security. “It is a flailing act of desperation” she said, “from an incumbent terrified of losing.”
