Chinese Company, First Automotive Works unveils a new truck manufacturing Plant in South Africa.

15th July 2014 Now guys, we all know that Nigeria is stepping up its automotive gears in order to encourage the local production and assembly of cars. On the South end of the continent, South Africa is doingthe same thing. President Zuma has emphasized the country’s determination to become the go to place for trucks and buses on the continent by 2020.

He reaffirmed this at the unveiling of Chinese company First Automotive Works’ new truck manufacturing plant outside Port Elizabeth. The plant which cost about 600 million rand, will produce 5 000 trucks a year once it is running at full capacity, and 3 500 cars a year once it commences its second phase of development.
