Mar 14, 2016 Crew members of an upcoming space expedition recently shared their excitement ahead of their trip to the International Space Station.
The team, which consists of Cosmonaut Anatoly Ivanishin of the Russian space agency Roscosmos and astronauts Takuya Onishi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and NASA’S Kathleen Rubins, will head to the space station aboard a Soyuz spacecraft on June 21st for a four-month mission.
Onishi, who will be making his first space trip, said:
“I really look forward to all aspects of our space flight, from the launch until the landing, even how to use a space toilet in the station. I really look forward to all of them. Hopefully I can introduce our lives in the station to the public using internet like Twitter, Google Plus,”
During their mission, the crew members will carry out over 250 scientific experiments that will include research on cell behavior as well as bone and muscle loss in space.
The three crew members will join Expedition 48 Commander Jeff Williams of NASA, and cosmonauts Oleg Skripochka and Alexey Ovchinin of Roscosmos, who are already on the station.
