Drama, scandal, betrayal. EbonyLife ON – the gift that keeps on giving

New digital video-on-demand service aims to delight Diaspora audiences with juicy content this holiday season

Lagos, 7 December 2017 – This month, EbonyLife TV brings another round of exciting and original programmes to international audiences via its digital platform, EbonyLife ON. The service provides a unique television experience that can be enjoyed on ebonylifeon.com or via the mobile app.  From now until 31st January 2018, new subscribers will pay a discounted monthly fee of $2.99.

In November, viewers enjoyed an exciting lineup: fun and edgy shows for the young and young-at-heart – Life 101 and On the Real (season 2); inspirational stories of successful Africans from all walks of life, with Hello Africa, Moments and Moments Z; some of Africa’s biggest celebrities on the red carpet with VVIP Events; and the latest celebrity buzz with EL NOW.

The festive period will be more joyful with series such as the popular drama, Fifty, the TV adaptation of the 2015 hit movie about four women in their fifties, and Moving Up the Squad, a reality show about five young ladies living together in Lagos, with dreams of being successful in media and entertainment.

Viewers will enjoy exclusive VVIP Events, behind-the-scenes content from the highest-ever grossing Nollywood movie, The Wedding Party, and its upcoming sequel, The Wedding Party 2 – scheduled to premiere soon on EbonyLife ON. Janet Ajayi, a lucky fan, got an early Christmas gift with tickets to the Grand World Premiere of The Wedding Party 2 on December 10, in Lagos.

January 2018 will usher in a fan favourite, Sons of the Caliphate, season 2 – a drama about feuding between powerful, political families in northern Nigeria.

The CEO of EbonyLife TV, Mo Abudu, is delighted about introducing more global viewers to this service. “Connecting with our audience outside the continent is important to us. We are proudly African and it is imperative that we keep telling our stories and changing the African narrative. EbonyLife ON is committed to that mission,” she said.

Additional features such as live streaming, ratings and favourites will be added to the service in the coming weeks.
