EbonyLife TV announces exciting new programme line-up to premiere April 3

Movies and scripted series dominate the schedule as viewers demand more stories, more drama and less talk

Lagos, Nigeria – EbonyLife TV announced today its new programming line-up beginning 3rd April 2017, including a slate of Nollywood’s best films, EbonyLife original series and new shows that meet viewer demand for more story-driven content. The changes are a direct response to changing audience viewing patterns, which show that drama series such as The Governor and Sons of the Caliphate are the most popular programmes on the channel.

Viewers will enjoy the more streamlined programming that gives each night a completely different and more immersive experience. For example, fans of Nollywood movies can watch back-to-back films on a Monday for up to six hours, featuring some of the best titles the genre has to offer. On Wednesdays, a new college drama, Life 101, leads the line-up for the young and young-at-heart, including Moments Z, a fresh and trendy chat show and reality-based drama, On the Real. While for those hooked on the big, glossy drama series that EbonyLife is known for, Thursdays is a non-stop feast, featuring Desperate Housewives Africa, The Governor, Sons of the Caliphate and the much-anticipated, Fifty, the serialised sequel to the biggest film of 2015.

Founder and CEO, Mo Abudu, is upbeat about the changes. “After nearly four years of quality broadcasting, we wanted to refresh our programming and shake things up. With our best ratings coming from the landmark drama series we have been producing, plus the amazing response in cinemas to our movies, The Wedding Party and Fifty, we’ve come to realise that our viewers want great African stories more than anything else. This new schedule reflects this demand, while retaining the best of our reality, talk and entertainment shows.”
