FIFA members arrive for executive committee meeting
Oct 22, 2015 FIFA’s executive committee recently met for an emergency meeting at its headquarters in Zurich.
Although the committee didn’t disclose the details of the meeting, sources have it that one of the possible topics could be delaying the election of its next president.
UEFA have already said it does not want the election delayed; a sentiment that has been echoed by Prince Ali bin Al Hussein of Jordan.
Platini had been wide regarded as a favorite to succeed Blatter as FIFA’s president, however his 90-day ban has posed a major challenge to his campaign.
Another presidential candidate, Chung Mong-joon, was handed a six year ban, meaning he will almost certainly miss out on the election.
