France's Hollande addresses law enforcement, one year after Charlie Hebdo

Jan 11, 2016 French President Francois Hollande recently addressed law enforcement during his annual new year’s wishes.

During the ceremony, president Hollande inspected police forces and members of the military, before laying a wreath at a memorial to police officers killed on duty.

He also thanked the law enforcement officers for their service.

“Ladies and gentlemen, you protect the French people. You also protect their way of life, their liberty. That way of life, that’s what the terrorists wanted to attack, because joy, sharing, culture, inspired hatred in them. Probably not in decades has your mission been more necessary, more demanding. Because terrorism is not done burdening our country with this formidable threat,”
