French soccer body's office searched in Blatter investigation

Mar 11, 2016 Authorities recently searched the offices of France’s soccer federation for documents in support of a Swiss investigation into former FIFA President Sepp Blatter. According to the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, the operation was linked to a 2 million Swiss franc payment at the heart proceedings against Blatter.

Swiss prosecutors had in September opened a criminal investigation into Blatter, who has also been banned from soccer for six years over the payment he made to Michel Platini in 2011.

A statement released by the office of the Attorney General, said:

“Documents were seized in connection with the suspected payment of 2 million Swiss francs ($2 million) that is inter alia the subject of the proceedings,”

There however wasn’t any immediate comment from the French football association.
