Gareth Cliff wins lawsuit against M-Net

Feb 03, 2016 We start off with the victory of South African media personality Gareth Cliff who has won his lawsuit against M-Net after M-Net had kicked him off the panel of judges for South African Idol reality show.

Gareth Cliff had taken M-Net to court, demanding to be reinstated as SA Idol judge and demanded 25 million rand settlement for defamation and breach of contract, and he won the case, which lasted just four minutes.

The media personality was kicked off the show because he was accused of being a racist when he reacted to the Penny Sparrow’s facebook post where Penny Sparrow referred to black people as monkeys.

Gareth Cliff sparked Twitter rage when he had tweeted in response saying “People really don’t understand free speech at all”.
