Ghana aims to hit a target of 1.2 million metric tonnes of cocoa beans by the end of the 2014/15 cocoa season
13th April 2015 The Suhum District Cocoa Officer of the Health and Extension Division of COCOBOD, Mr. Michael Gyasi has announced that Ghana will reach their target of producing one point two million metric tonnes of cocoa in this 2014/2015 farming season.
Mr. Gyasi explained that the government is working hard to achieve the set target and to sustain it, to make sure that the country becomes the world leader in cocoa production by 2016. The cocoa boss also said the purpose of Farmers’ Rallies, was also part of the Health and Extension Division of COCOBOD efforts to provide an avenue to interact, socialize and educate farmers on good farming practices.
