Ghana Opens a State-of-the-Art Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

10th July 2014 And health news from ThisDay Live, with a report that Ghana has opened a state-of-the-art cancer diagnostic and treatment centre. The centre is said to be equal in standard to facilities everywhere else in the world and will be expected to cater for patients from the West African sub-region.

The centre is the product of a Ghanaian-Swedish collaboration with medical investors Elekta and Swedfund (Global Medical Investment) as part owners. Chief Executive Officer of the centre Joshua Tetteh in interviews, has shared that the centre aims to deliver excellent diagnostic and treatment in combination with high efficiency and competitive pricing.

He is quoted as saying “Quality of care is guaranteed with the availability of experienced Ghanaian and international medical staff from well-endowed international institutions. SGMC has come in time to help solve the region’s need for private oncology services.
