GHANAIAN STARS SHINE BRIGHT ON THE INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

11 Feb 2014 – From Modern Ghana, the story that The Royal Society of Chemistry of the United Kingdom has acknowledged the work of a Ghanaian Scientist and included her in the recent list of distinguished individuals who have been elevated as Fellows of the Society.

Dr. Sylvia Josephine Anie is a Chartered Scientist and an Inventor. She holds a patent for a compound she created at the University of Manchester for Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the gastro- intestinal tract.

The esteemed scientist wasn’t expecting to be honoured but was however overjoyed that her role in Science has been acknowledged by such a noble institution.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is a professional association in the United Kingdom with the goal of “advancing the chemical sciences.” The designation of fellow is given to a group of elected Fellows who have made major contributions to chemistry.

Another award for Ghanaians excelling internationally as an MBA student from Ghana is one of ten winners of a prestigious award for teamwork from Saїd Business School at the University of Oxford.

intaahDjin, Deputy COO of Yadco Ghana Ltd, supported fellow students by checking they were keeping up with course demands and organising study groups.

She is quoted as saying,“It is hugely encouraging and will push me to be even more involved, not only in the MBA class but also in my workspace and my community when I return to Ghana.”
