I SCORED 17 OUT OF 400 IN JAMB – TIMAYA

16 Apr 2014 Celebrities may be regarded as stars, but let’s face it, not all of them can particularly be termed as bright. When it comes to academics, many have fallen far from grace.

Case in point is Egberi papa 1 of Baylesa Timaya who over the weekend revealed on stage his Joint Exams and Matric Board score during a Star Music Trek concert in Uyo. Timaya confessed to what we imagine was a shocked audience that out of 400 points, he scored a humbling 17 marks. People, that’s 17 over 400.

Let’s note though that his reason for this self-humiliation was actually a message to the youth that education wasn’t for him. “ I don’t have the brain for education” he said, “ but for those of you who do, please do it, it’s good”.

Timaya today stands as one of the country’s most successful and hardworking artists, recently releasing collaboration with Jamaican great, Sean Paul.
