Indonesia strengthens aviation regulations following Airasia crash report

Dec 07, 2015 Indonesia authorities recently announced plans to strengthen its aviation regulation, following a crash report that highlighted flaws in its aircraft maintenance policy.

Speaking to this effect, Mohammad Alwi, an official of the Transport ministry said:

“The existing upset recovery training, which is being conducted every 12 months, will now be enforced into every six months. This implementation means it will increase the pilot’s competency,”

According to Suprasetyo, director-general of air transport at the Transport Ministry, there will increased pilot training and regular checks for all airbus A320 operating in the country.

“Airbus 320 inspection only applies for Indonesia. There will be approximately 75 (planes),”
