INEC commences movement of non sensitive materials for elections

9th Feb 2015 And In Nigeria, preparations for the forthcoming presidential and state polls have prompted the country’s electoral body, INEC to start nationwide distribution of non sensitive materials such as smart card and readers for the elections. The news is from Sam Olumekun, the Ekiti state resident electoral commissioner who noted that he has received some materials from the organization.

The electoral boss of the state has been quoted as saying “We have taken delivery of smart cards and readers, ballot boxes alongside other non sensitive election materials. We have also come up with a policy to make use of smart card readers for accreditation during the 2015 general elections”

Candidates and their supporters have especially been encouraged and urged not to cause trouble before, during or after the polls, as peace is important for security and wellbeing of the people, especially in this season.
