Jaguar plans return to motorsport with electric car

Dec 21, 2015 Jaguar recently announced its plans to enter the Formula E electric racing series by next year.

Reacting to the announcement, Alejandro Agag, CEO Of Formula E Holdings, said:

“Well we are very excited, it is fantastic that Jaguar is coming to Formula E. For us as a championship this is exactly what we want – to attract companies like Jaguar into this technology competition to create the fastest electric racing car in the world so we welcome Jaguar.”

Also commenting on the proposed come-back, James Barclay, Jaguar Team Director said:

“For us, our future and our plans in terms of production vehicles Formula E was a perfect fit. So it gives us the ideal opportunity to try new technology and to prove the new technology, both from the performance and efficiency point of view. We believe this is a core area for us in the future so it is an ideal platform to base our technology on”
