KENYAN ARTISTE WYRE SAYS HE’S GUNNING FOR GRAMMY NOMINATION

07 Mar 2014 Finally Kenyan Rn B and reggae musician Wyre says he is working towards being nominated for the grammy awards come the end of this year

According to Nairobi Wire ,Wyre said that his aim, apart from winning a Grammy, was to open up East Africa to the international reggae market.

‘I really wanna put East Africa on the international map. I wanna see East African artistes headlining International Reggae Music Festivals and I wanna wave the Kenyan flag high out there. I wanna see if I can go for a Grammy Nomination,’ he said.

Wyre, who was nominated for the best male artiste category in the 2014 World Music Awards, is setting his sights on the apex musical award now like his fellow compatriot Lupita Nyongo who was the first ever Black African to win the prestigious Oscars.
