Microsoft CEO Sataya Nadella visits Kenya
Aug 6, 2015 As part of the global launch of Windows 10, Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, paid Kenya a visit and met with students, teachers, entrepreneurs and local businesses to study how technology is empowering people and organizations.
During his time in Kenya, Nadella visited Burguret Secondary Schools, Gakawa and helped upgrade some of the computer systems to Windows 10. The visit also featured a Skype session between students at Burguret Secondary Schools, Gakawa and students from the Zilla Parishad School in India.
The Microsoft executive also met with the team from the Mawingu Networks Solar Cyber Center and was impressed by how the converted shipping container powered by TV white space Wi-Fi technology is creating new opportunities for the community.
Microsoft is currently paying tribute to the spirit of Windows 10 through the “Upgrade Your World” initiative which is designed to celebrate people who inspire and empower others. Microsoft will partner with 10 global and 100 local non-profits on projects and initiatives to upgrade the world through a combination of technology, a $10 million donation and the development of campaigns to raise awareness.
