Dec 07, 2015 Carissa Moore of Hawaii recently capped off her world title claim with a win at the Target Maui Pro at Honolua Bay. Moore took home her 3rd World Surf League World Title after winning the final event of the season.
Commenting on the final event, Moore said:
“I mean I’ve got to give the wave a lot of credit. It pretty much did the work for me, I just had to stand there. I’m so thankful it’s been a crazy day. You know, I’m so grateful for the WSL putting an event here; Target, and everyone involved. There’s so many people that make this event possible and I’m so thankful.”
Moore was locked in a tight ratings battle for the 2015 World Title with Courtney Conlogue ahead of the event, but she went on to her 3rd World Title after Conlogue was eliminated in the fourth Round.
Commenting on this, she said:
“I don’t know. I feel I have so much work to do still today and I just wasn’t thinking about it. I was like ‘oh, me and Courtney will be in the final,’ and it’s crazy for it to happen so early in the day. But, I’m so thankful and a lot of my family is here and there’s a lot of support, so I’m really thankful and it’s really cool.”
