More Honours Roll in For Nigerian Goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama.
30th July 2014 And the honours continue to roll in for Nigeria’s Superman, Goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama. The 31 year old has been announced as the only Nigerian in this year’s Goal 50, an annual list naming and ranking the world’s 50 best footballers for the year. Named in 27th position, Vincent Enyeama is the 2nd Nigerian to be named on this list, following Sunday Mba who was announced in 2013.
And I think we can all agree that he has earned the title – we all saw what he did in Rio Brazil, keeping a good number of clean sheets, saving unsaveable shots, organizing, shouting and generally just being awesome. FIFA agreed too, naming the goalie 4th best in the world.
Vincent Enyeama also had a great season with Lille of France last year, going 1062 minutes without conceding a goal and becoming the first goalkeeper and Anglophone African to receive the Marc-Vivien Foe Award as the best African player in Ligue 1.
Congratulations Vincent Enyeama, the honour is very very well deserved.
