New movie alert: Wole Soyinka’s childhood memoir titled “Ake”

6th April 2015 Still on Nollywood, after several months of filming, the movie adaptation of legendary Nigerian author Wole Soyinka’s memoir titled “Ake” has been completed.

The official trailer of the movie has been released ahead of the movie premiere due sometime this year.

Set in the years just before World War 2, the movie shows the experiences of World War 2 through the eyes of 11 year old Wole Soyinka in the village of Ake, in Abeokuta.

Starring in the movie are Nollywood stars such as Yemi Solade, Afeez Oyetoro, Bayo Bankole and others.
