9 June 2014 Over the course of the weekend, Nigeria said goodbye to 2 eminent citizens who had served the nation tirelessly in their different capacities., Alhaji Ado Bayero had been Emir of Kano since 1965 and was widely recognized as a Father to Northern Nigeria. Professor Dora Akunyili etched her name in gold when, as Director General of NAFDAC she successfully restructured the organization and ended the menace of fake drugs.
As the news filtered through, hundreds of citizens took to social media to share tributes to both leaders.
